about

I wrote this song about a time in my life, a transition, between focusing on the fact that she left me and wondering why she left me. I learned a lot about myself and what it means to be in love when I stopped to look at things from the outside perspective.

lyrics

Oh, Ashley, I'm glad you found the strength to leave me, because I'd rather be alone, than see you hollow eyed inside our home.
And Ashley, I've come to walk a a similar road, and I know how hard it is to leave someone that you still love.

Oh I took my sweet time, learning all the lessons that you taught me while I set my world on fire.
And I've got top say that if I had stayed on that pullout couch in my friends garage then I would not have changed.

Oh, Ashley, I'm glad you found the strength to leave m, cuz you're much better off now, and I've been slowly changing.
And Ashley no matter how bad it was in the end, I'm glad that here we are three years later, and we can still be friends.
Oh, Ashley, you gave me much more than a a home, the things you showed me of myself, I would have never known
and Ashley, I wish that you could see me now, I've grown so much since how I was and, I think that you'd be proud

Oh I took my sweet time, learning all the lessons that you taught me while I set my world on fire.
And I've got top say that if I had stayed on that pullout couch in my friends garage then I would not have changed.

Ashley, I'm glad you found the strength to leave me, cuz i'd rather be alone than see you hollow eyed inside our home
and Ashley, i'm glad you found the strength tot leave me, cuz you're much better off now, and I've been slowly changing

What the fuck do I even say? I struggle with basic music theory as I try and fail to get a story out about how much I fucked something up or something fucked up happened at one point or another. FUN TIMES! GREAT PARTY TUNES! GIVE YOUR DAD MY MIXTAPE!
